Rottweiler Survives Brutal Toddler Attack

Owing his life to the last-minute intervention of local law enforcement, a neighborhood rottweiler finds himself lucky to be alive following a brutal toddler attack. The canine suffered numerous bites, scratches, and tail yanks, and is currently receiving medical treatment at a top-of-the-line veterinarian's office. The toddler, age four, was apprehended by police shortly after the attack and placed in serious timeout.

“I say put the bastard down,” says Deborah Harken, Vice President of the Home Owner’s Association. “That kid never should’ve been let off his leash in the first place, let alone been allowed near a young rottweiler.” The toddler’s parents, Andy and Susan Johnston, agree that their child went too far but maintain that they’re just as shocked as everyone else. “We just never saw it coming, you know?” said Andy. “I mean yeah, he gets excited around new people and chases the mailman around, but we just thought that was normal for kids his age.”

Despite the nature of the attack, lead veterinarian, Dr. Tract, remains hopeful. “Aside from permanent facial disfigurement and a slew of future medical issues, we expect this pup to make a full recovery.” Tract predicts that the rottweiler will be cleared for discharge in just a few short days, so long as someone is willing to pay its medical bills.
